How to interpret our educational tools, original guide library, sources, and illustrative examples.
What the tools do
Our calculators make arithmetic and assumptions visible. They help you organize questions; they do not certify value, set an asking price, issue financing terms, or calculate your taxes. Defaults are illustrative examples. They are not industry benchmarks or quotes.
How results are produced
Each tool shows its earnings basis, inputs, formula, and scope. SDE and adjusted EBITDA are separated. Marketability is not inferred from a multiple. Deferred consideration is excluded from closing cash. The readiness tool counts preparation tasks rather than predicting outcomes.
How to use the guide library
The library includes existing educational articles on buying, selling, and valuing businesses. Sixteen owner decision guides were rewritten and source reviewed on October 10, 2026. Those guides show a source-reviewed date, specific citations and the scope of the sources. The remaining 534 guides retain imported prose and dates without a fresh factual review. The owner decision hub prioritizes the reviewed guides. Market figures, tax rules, financing programs, and professional requirements can change. Verify time-sensitive claims against the linked original sources and the relevant professionals.
Sources and examples
New calculator methodology links to conceptual source material. Those sources do not validate the example amounts or a particular business’s value. Hypothetical examples are identified. No client transaction or testimonial is implied by a scenario.
Privacy in the tools
Financial inputs and checklist answers remain in the browser tab. The tools do not send those figures to analytics, submit them to a server, or persist them in browser storage. Printing or downloading a report creates a copy under your control. Inquiry forms and booking services have separate data practices.
Questions or corrections
To discuss a guide, methodology, or your specific situation, contact Jaken Equities. Do not send sensitive financial records through a public feedback channel.
